From the moment you arrive at Walt Disney World you are surrounded by magic, and fun is at your fingertips! Walt Disney World has four theme parks, two water parks, it's own dining and entertainment district, and countless resort hotels with their own unique dining and entertainment offerings, plus complimentary transportation all over the property.
I'll be at Walt Disney World in a week and I am so excited! I bet you're thinking... "You could go anywhere in the world, and you're going to Disney again! WHY?"
They call it "the most magical place on Earth," so read on to find out why Disney is so special to me - and why I think everyone should visit at least once!
Core memories!
My first visit to Walt Disney World was a day trip to the Magic Kingdom with my mom, grandma, and grandpa. I was six years old and too nervous to ride Pirates of the Caribbean but LOVED Mr. Toad's Wile Ride. Most of my memories from that trip are in the form of pictures, though I love listening to my mom recall how special that day was! During the afternoon parade I turned to her and said "this is the dream of my life." Little did I know, I had just created core memories that will last forever.
Since that first visit decades ago I have visited Walt Disney World many times, and each trip is just as memorable as the last.
As a teenager I went with my parents on the only family vacation that we took together. To this day my dad and I love to talk about our first ride on Test Track, how much we enjoyed 50's Prime Time Café, and how we can't wait to go back together someday and create new memories.
A few years later I got to spend the day in the Magic Kingdom with my then ten-year-old nephew. Let me tell you - seeing the sheer joy and amazement in his eyes is something I will never forget. The memory of the smile on his face when Tinkerbell waved to him during Festival of Fantasy because "she remembered meeting me this morning" makes me cry happy tears every time!
My relationship with Walt Disney World is even more special as an adult. It is part of the very fabric of my relationship with my husband - we got engaged on Main Street USA, honeymooned there, and celebrated our babymoon at Disney, too. I can't wait until our daughter is old enough to join us in the parks!
Just think of the endless memories you'll be able to make with your family when you visit a Disney park!
All that fun in one place!
Being in Walt Disney World is a feeling like no other - it feels like being a kid again. It's the excited anticipation of Christmas morning mixed with the fun and freedom of summer vacation. It's a great place to go and escape (especially if you're staying on property).
Picture it - making your way to the Magic Kingdom, crossing under the plaque that reads "here you leave the world of today, and enter a world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy," rounding the corner on to Main Street USA, and getting your first glimpse of Cinderella Castle, and feeling a swell of joy because your dream of visiting Walt Disney World has finally come true.
I start every trip by visiting the Magic Kingdom. Walking down Main Street USA, feeling Walt's influence, and seeing Cinderella Castle for the first time makes me cry every time. The Magic Kingdom is so iconic and nostalgia-filled, I can't imagining starting my visit anywhere else. After taking a minute to let the feeling of unbridled giddiness wash over me, I dry my eyes, grab a coffee, head to the hub grass, and just take it ALL in. My only worry is where to start my day - I'm partial to the tropical vibes of Adventureland.
Maybe you'll start your vacation with a leisurely visit to Animal Kingdom, where you can stroll through exploration trails and see all sorts of wildlife - even a Yeti! If thrills are more your speed, you may want to start at Hollywood Studios, where you can stroll down Sunset Blvd. before saving the galaxy on board the Millennium Falcon. Or maybe you'd rather explore the world in one day with a visit to Epcot, where you'll visit eleven different countries, the land and seas, and even other worlds with the addition of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Whether you're team "rope drop to park close" or team "take it easy" you can't go wrong with a trip to Walt Disney World. It feels like a true vacation, because you can let go of all your real-world worries and just have fun!
There's always something to look forward to!
Aside from the memories, and having all of the fun at my fingertips, one other reason I keep going back to Walt Disney World is there truly is ALWAYS something to be excited about! I spend an inordinate amount of time planning what I want to do on my trip so I don't miss anything. From dining at new restaurants to finally getting to Typhoon Lagoon, I have a lot to look forward to this time around.
In addition to staring at Cinderella Castle in awe, my plans for this trip include testing out the new MagicBand+ features, using the Genie+ service, riding Splash Mountain one more time, getting on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind for the first time, stuffing my face at Epcot's Food and Wine Festival, and riding all of my favorite attractions again... to name a few. I'm also excited to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for the first time, not to mention seeing the Magic Kingdom all decorated for the season! I'm going to dress up as Minnie Mouse, and I'm most looking forward to the special fireworks show and Boo To You Parade!
I actually have so much going on during this trip that I've decided to save some of my plans for a different visit... but that just means I have more core memories to look forward to making on another trip!
